ABOUT HIPPO CAMPAIGNING
Once again we are entering the season of so-called "alternative gift"
catalogues when nearly all the aid charities vie for funding with
nauseating humour like "chick this out" for a gift of chickens and
"udderly great" for - well, you've guessed it! It is something, I
suppose, that they now feel they have to anticipate criticism by
giving reassurances that they do consider the environmental impact
and animal welfare before making gifts of animals. We do believe
them, don't we? Why not use our Silly Cow stickers on your
outgoing mail? We need to get the message out widely and quickly. The
self-adhesive stickers measure 64mm X 38mm, come in sheets of 21, have a
cartoon cow picture, and read:
"A SILLY COW? Maybe. But not half as silly as people who send cows or goats
to Africa. The hungry do not need more mouths to feed! Livestock
waste precious land and water. Give aid that is sensible and
sustainable.
This Christmas - and throughout the year - please support
HIPPO FOOD AID (Reg Charity 1075420). For information and free
stickers contact HIPPO, The Old Vicarage, Llangynog, Carmarthen SA33
5BS".
